Hello, my name is Kat, welcome to my website. I am a UKCP Psychotherapist in Training offering low cost Psychotherapy to adults in a confidential room in central Stroud.

I recognise we all go through phases where we lose our way in life or our sense of connectedness with ourselves and others feel diminished. I understand that seeking help can be hard, especially if we have learnt that we must endure difficulties silently or feel somehow faulty for experiencing them at all. I believe Psychotherapy can be a powerful release from this lone suffering, a place to be heard, valued and to foster self-acceptance and to experience yourself and your life in a different way.

My approach is Integrative, this means I draw on different approaches to Psychotherapy to inform how I practice. Fundamentally I see the relationship we build as central to the therapeutic work as I believe that healing and growth happens in the context of a connected relationship. Over the beginning of the therapy we will be building the foundations of this, getting to know each other, establishing and nurturing trust.

I also believe that our past experiences and relationships are very important in shaping the person we are and the struggles we experience. I believe through exploration of these it is possible to gain greater awareness of how you fit within this. That said, I also believe we are all born with a unique and individual essence and temperament and want to give space for this part of you to be valued. I am gender, sexuality, disability and neurodiverse affirming, and I am curious to be with your individual uniqueness.

Over time I believe Psychotherapy can offer people the chance for personal integration. By this I mean to live more wholly and less in a state of anxiety or fear, from a wiser and more grounded part of ourselves.
